changed: - ** Overview ** The aim is to design and build a web based database to cover most of Computerbank's work processes. The database will cover contact details, sales, user support, free training, computers, inventory and eWaste. We hope the completed database code will be used by other non profit computer recycling groups. Phase one of the project is examing the existing database with a view to updating and rebuilding new revised fields for clients and their computers. At the same time building a more user friendly user interface. This will be tested throughly for accuracy and ease of use. Phase two will be adding inventory and ewaste areas. ** Technology ** This project uses 'PostgreSQL' and Django. We are using Google for Groups for our mailing list and Google Code for our Subversion repository, wiki, file repository and issue tracter. http://code.google.com/p/djangodb/ Most of our activity is now in the Google space. We tried the recently launched Launchpad https://launchpad.net/computerbank-db but it was a little convulted to use and required independent hosting of Subversion respository, we may use it for our FAQ ** Team Members ** Head Developer - Wendy Langer - User Inferface Jan Smith, Python - Patrick Chan PhaseOne designs, diagrams and discussions for Phase One UseCases for new database ExistingRhahamDatabase observations FreeGeekDatabase observations [MeetingOn27thApril,2007] Further information now at http://code.google.com/p/djangodb/
