DraftCodeofConduct - copy here
After the CodeofConduct has been developed and approved (or maybe in conjunction with its development) a DismissalProcedure and a GrievancesProcedure will be written.
One question that still remains for the CodeofConduct document: how do we get volunteers to sign off on this? For new volunteers the answer is easy, include the agreement within the volunteer registration form. What about for current volunteers? Do we get them to sign a document separately or do we get them to redo their volunteer registration form*?
*Probably can't hurt, always good to get updated information.

Points from Jan
I'm not sure why we are using a wiki instead of Silva because we have to log into both. The Silva doc could be made visible but thought it best not to until it was ratified into a draft doc. I guess it is easier for anyone to join here and make comments. I don;t really mind just curious :)
I think once the draft is agreed to we set a date by which all current members staff etc fill out updated details and sign code of conduct.

With the wiki, anyone can create a login and make a comment. With the silva site they need to have a login created for them. You might also need to have some experience with document versioning.
With a wiki it is easier to see who made changes and when they were made. It is also easier to write comments and create side documents. Alas, plone wiki is not media wiki but it still provides useful information about document history.
It is also an easier way to find out if anything is changed. All wiki documents that get changed or added can be seen from the item wiki changes. This means I can click on a wiki changes bookmark to see if anyone has added content or an issue. Pretty handy stuff. :)

Might even be worthwhile copying the full text of the CodeofConduct here. IMHO policy in development belongs on the wiki/mailing list and final versions belong on silva. FreeGeek develop policies using their wiki, this appears to be quite successful.
